Kind
lineage: a code that shares PyStratify's ancestry. planar.py is Byrnes's tmm (MIT notice in src/pystratify/PLANAR-LICENSE.txt); the backend's inc_tmm/"GTMM" path descends from it (so did the site's JavaScript tutorial-engine.js, removed 2026-10-11). Agreement is a regression check only

The same stack: PyStratify's incoherent solver against inc_tmm, the lineage it replaced (GTMM in the backend tests) inc_tmm is the incoherent transfer matrix of S. J. Byrnes' tmm package, from which PyStratify's planar engine descends; it is kept as a lineage check, not an independent one. 31°, s polarization; the backend's tests run 120 random stacks as well.
