A two-layer film under a focused beam (NA 0.6/0.2), in transmission: the cone quadrature against a 2D pupil grid In transmission: a 1.2 µm film of n = 1.55 + 0.03i on 3 µm of n = 1.42, in air, detected by a 0.35–0.7 condenser. PyStratify reduces the beam to a one-dimensional quadrature over the cone angle; the reference sums a two-dimensional pupil grid of x- and y-directed plane waves, each split into s and p and solved separately (focused_checks.py). The test also compares every layer's absorption, for both pupil polarizations.

A two-layer film under a focused beam (NA 0.6/0.2), in reflection: the cone quadrature against a 2D pupil grid In reflection: a 1.2 µm film of n = 1.55 + 0.03i on 3 µm of n = 1.42, on a metal (n = 0.3 + 18i), detected in reflection.
