Dipoles in air near a lossless half-space of n = 1.5 and n = 3: total radiated power, Lukosz & Kunz 1977, Fig. 4 Lukosz & Kunz, J. Opt. Soc. Am. 67, 1607 (1977): the power a dipole radiates near a plane interface, against its distance in units of the wavelength in its own medium. Values read off the figures to ±0.05; positions not printed are marked where PyStratify's curve turns. From crosscheck/classics/lukosz_kunz_1977.py.

A dipole in 190 nm of ZnS (n = 2.3) on aluminium, 600 nm: emission into air and total rate across the layer, Neyts 1998, Figs. 9–11 Neyts, J. Opt. Soc. Am. A 15, 962 (1998): an isotropic dipole in the ZnS layer of an electroluminescent device on an Al mirror (n = 1 + 6i), the layer at the optimum thickness n_e d_e / λ = 0.73 (PyStratify finds 0.725). The printed maximum outcoupling 0.38 and F = 0.817 are for the dipole at the air side; F grows as z⁻³ toward the mirror (not drawn below 15 nm). From crosscheck/classics/neyts_1998.py.
